The challenge
Demographic measures — from newborn allowances to support for young families — differ from one municipality to another and are published in dozens of different places. It is hard for citizens to find out what is available in their own town, and the measures change frequently.
The solution
Built for the Croatian Ministry of Demography and Immigration, the demografija.info portal presents demographic measures on an interactive map of towns, municipalities and counties, with search and data by year. Alongside the measures — from child allowances and preschool support to housing and healthcare — it also shows general data such as population and the development index.
Architecture and technology
The portal is a web application built around an interactive map: views by town, municipality and county are generated from a central register of measures, with search, measure categories and data by year. General unit data (population, development index) is shown alongside the measures, and the interface is prepared multilingually.
The result
A central public place for tracking demographic measures at the local and county level — citizens see at a glance which measures are available to them.
